What is Chaïa?
Chaïa is a Los Angeles–based slow fashion brand specializing in hand-beaded luxury bags from India and hand-crocheted resort wear from Brazil. Every piece is artisan-made in small batches, with proceeds from each collection supporting nonprofit partners in the country of origin.
Who founded Chaïa?
Chaïa was founded by Chaya Mobasser, a Los Angeles designer who began the brand at age 16. Her vision is to bridge global craft traditions with modern wardrobes — making cultural craftsmanship wearable for everyday life.
Where are Chaïa pieces made?
Beaded bags are hand-embroidered in India using traditional Adda embroidery on wooden frames. Crochet resort wear is hand-hooked in coastal Brazil by artisan cooperatives. Design and curation happen in Los Angeles.
Products & Sizing
Are Chaïa pieces one size?
Most crochet pieces are designed as one-size-fits-most, comfortably accommodating US sizes 0–10 (XS–L). The crochet weave naturally stretches to fit a range of body types. Bags come in fixed dimensions listed on each product page.
Do you offer custom sizing?
Yes. Custom sizing is available on select pieces. Email chaya@chaiaofficial.com with your measurements and the piece you are interested in.
How do I care for my Chaïa piece?
Hand wash crochet in cold water, lay flat to dry. Wipe beaded bags with a soft damp cloth and store in the dust bag. Full care guide: Care Instructions.
Shipping & Returns
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship worldwide. International rates and delivery times are calculated at checkout.
How long does shipping take?
U.S. orders ship within 2–3 business days and arrive in 5–7 business days. International orders typically arrive in 7–21 business days depending on destination.
Is shipping free?
Free shipping on all U.S. orders over $150. Orders under $150 ship at a $8.95 flat rate.
What is your return policy?

Sustainability & Impact
How is Chaïa sustainable?
We work in small batches with no flash sales, fair-wage artisan partners, recyclable packaging, and reclaimed-cotton dust bags. Every Chaïa piece is built to last years, not seasons.
Where does the impact contribution go?
Each collection supports a nonprofit in the country that inspired it. Brazil collection contributions support women-led artisan cooperatives. India collection contributions support craft preservation and Adda embroidery training programs.

Can I cancel or change my order?
Order changes and cancellations are possible within 4 hours of placing your order. After that, the order enters production and cannot be modified.
