Introducing the Holy Land Collection: Ten Necklaces, Ten Places
Chaya Mobasserمشاركة
Today we are introducing something new: the Holy Land Collection. It is ten handmade necklaces, each named for a city or a sea in the Holy Land, and each finished with a chai or a hamsa pendant. If you read our recent post on the meaning of these two symbols, this is where they come to life.
Ten Necklaces, Ten Places
Every necklace is hand-strung in small batches, in one size, at $45. Here is each of them.
- The Hädera Necklace: aqua, mint, white, and clear seed beads with a baby-blue enamel chai pendant edged in gold-tone.
- The Nëtanya Necklace: fine faceted black beads with a carved golden-brown stone hamsa and a gold-tone eye.
- The Eïlat Necklace: fine silvery-grey faceted beads with a blue and white speckled stone hamsa.
- The Hërzliya Necklace: turquoise seed beads with gold-tone accents and a chai pendant inlaid with blue-green banded stone.
- The Rëd Sea Necklace: coppery, rose-gold faceted beads with a red and green mottled stone hamsa.
- The Tël Aviv Necklace: tiny pearl-white beads with a soft periwinkle hamsa and a dark eye.
- The Häifa Necklace: pale mint seed beads with a chai pendant inlaid in pearly white.
- The Bät Yam Necklace: a fine strand of light beads with a pale, translucent hamsa.
- The Jërusalem Necklace: fine faceted dark beads with a green stone hamsa and a gold-tone eye.
- The Tïberias Necklace: faceted olive-bronze beads with a gold-tone chai pendant.

Two Symbols, Many Moods
Half of the collection carries a chai, the Hebrew symbol for life, and half carries a hamsa, a hand-shaped symbol of protection. The colors vary widely, from the soft aqua of the Hädera to the deep copper of the Rëd Sea, so there is something for every wardrobe.

Why Name Them for Places
We name all of our pieces for places, because a place carries a mood. We wrote about the idea in Named for Places. For this collection, the places are in the Holy Land, and each necklace is meant to feel like a small piece of its namesake: a city by the sea, a lake shore, a hilltop, a desert coast.
How to Wear Them
- One at a time. Each necklace has its own character and stands well on its own.
- Layered. The fine strands layer easily with each other. Try mixing a chai and a hamsa.
- As a gift. At $45, they are an easy, meaningful gift for a birthday, a holiday, or any milestone.

Handmade in Small Batches
Like everything we make, these necklaces are made slowly and in small batches, so no two are ever exactly alike.
